East Midlands Petanque

Welcome to East Midlands Petanque

Petanque is a sport played throughout the world. East Midlands Region has now been running since the early 80's and we're always excited to welcome new members.

Whether you've played before, joining from another club or you're completely new to the sport, come and play Petanque in a friendly sociable environment

We run friendly competitions and open events where we're more than happy for people to attend to see how the game is played and meet some of the current members.

Lincoln Branleys Petanque Club

Lincoln Branleys has been a presence in Lincoln for over 30 years, and a part of the East Midlands Region and Pétanque England for nearly as long.  We are now firmly established just outside Lincoln in the garden of Woodcocks pub/restaurant at the side of the Fossdyke canal.

We are a friendly club with around 40 members.  We have three social sessions a week, Sunday and Thursday mornings and Tuesday afternoons, when anyone is welcome to come and join us, whether complete novices or more experienced players.  Boules are available to borrow, tuition is free, and you can have up to 5 sessions before deciding to join the club.

We hold three very popular open competitions a year, with players coming from near and far.  Our terrain is large enough to allow 16 games at any one time.  Being a prominent part of the East Midlands Region we also hold some Regional competitions.

Our venue at Woodcocks is much admired.  There is a large garden area and plenty of space alongside the terrain.  If you would like to stay on site overnight, there is the Woodcocks Lodge, by Marston’s Inns.

Wycliffe Bowls Club Meet Up

Affiliated To Petanque England

Welcome to Wycliffe Bowls Club.

Founded in 1956, our first green was at the Follsain Wycliffe Foundary, sandwiched between the football pitch and the machine shop! Not too auspicious a start but since then, our club has had a long and illustrious history.

Today we have our own purpose-built facility located on Hall Park, LE17 4LN and our offering goes way beyond ‘just lawn bowls’.

We have excellent facilities and qualified coaches, in both lawn bowls and Pétanque, available to help you should you need guidance. Both these sports are played at all levels - (friendlies, club competitions, in local leagues, in County and National competitions) so there is a level to suit all.

In addition, we have a superb clubhouse, with a large function room, licensed bar and kitchen, where we hold such social events as ‘indoor short mat’ bowls, club meetings, indoor games evenings and bingo evenings.

On occasion, our members combine to arrange group outings so there is plenty to be involved in. Today, we have members who are visually impaired, a teenage County Champion, several octogenarians and so no matter your age or ability, there is a welcome here for you; beginners in either or both sports would be especially welcome.

We would be delighted to see you, as there is a wonderful opportunity to ‘play and socialise’.

Wycliffe Bowls Club are holding an open day in Bitteswell for Lawn Bowls and Petanque with free junior membership and free coaching. For more information email us at wycliffebowlsclub@gmail.com or call at 07863797938.
